Change is the only constant in life. Yet, it’s not the change that will do you in, it’s the inability to transition well from “what was” to what needs to be.
We specialize in helping businesses determine their strategic aim, align their structure, processes and people, and master their leadership to transition from where they are today to where they want and need to be tomorrow.
We are dedicated to helping businesses, their leaders and their people reach their full potential. Through our process and our flexible approach to engaging leaders and employees in decision-making, we support organizations – public, private and not-for-profit – in achieving total business and employee potential.

Our story.
John Nason founded Workfactors in 1996 when he transitioned his deep experience in financial systems advising and accounting from the public sector into the private sector. John realized he could help smaller companies that did not have the robust operating budgets needed to fully maximize their business’ effectiveness and efficiencies. He also knew that if Workfactors could provide new, best-practice thinking to these smaller organization’s to meet their full potential, then he’d be meeting his own potential as a strategic business advisor and master of business of administration.
John’s hope was that his children would one day join him in the business when the time was right.
Unfortunately, John passed away before this vision of a family business could be realized. He was courageous in his acceptance of a quick and terminal diagnosis of cancer. He passed peacefully in 2011 with his family by his side and a business venture waiting for the next generation. That time is now. John’s vision to offer a practical and effective consulting to businesses has transitioned to his daughter, Heather Beairsto.
Heather is a Business Strategist who partners with heads of companies, executives and talented employees to empower the entire organization to deliver its best. She does this by taking a bird’s eye view businesses to narrow in to where change is needed most. After spending nearly two decades working in strategy and organizational effectiveness for complex, high-touch, multibillion-dollar organizations, Heather knows what truly drives sustainable and thriving workplaces – and it’s not avoiding the tough work of change. It’s how well you step back from the issues you are facing to see the bigger picture, listen to your people’s ideas and concerns, and lean-in to co-create the new and different together.
Heather has successfully navigated a variety of large and small change initiatives, including: process reengineering for efficiency and effectiveness; policy development and implementation; provincial legislation and regulation drafting, interpretation and implementation; corporate strategic planning function development and roll-out; competency review and alignment activities; succession planning processes, and leadership program design, installation and instruction across multiple stakeholders. Her successes have been typically achieved within tight budgets, and even tighter timelines. In addition to her strategy and organizational alignment experience, Heather is a trained and practicing leadership coach, including offering programs specific to advancing women in leadership. Heather holds a BA in Psychology from Laurentian University. Additionally, she holds certifications in Adult Education (Georgina College), Organizational Development (Queen’s University Industrial Relations Center), Strategic Human Resources Leadership (Cornell University), and Leading Organizational Transition (William Bridges through Linkage).
